Catherine O’Hara joins a cast of newcomers, including Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced and Young Mazino. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kaitlyn Dever will take on the role of Abby, a skilled soldier on a quest for vengeance, challenging her black-and-white worldview. Merced will portray Dina, a free-spirited character whose loyalty to Ellie will be tested in the harsh reality of their world, and Mazino is set to play Jesse, a community pillar who sacrifices his own needs for others.

The Last of Us TV series, set two decades after the collapse of modern civilisation, follows Joel (Pedro Pascal), a hardened survivor, as he undertakes the task of smuggling Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl, out of a brutal quarantine zone.
