Deadpool & Wolverine Won’t Feature Iron Man’s Cameo Despite Theories: Report
While some X-Men characters are confirmed to appear in Deadpool & Wolverine, rumours were circulating about a possible cameo of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man.

Deadpool & Wolverine is shaping up to be one of the most eagerly awaited releases of the year. Amidst this, Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fans are buzzing with excitement and coming up with theories about what to expect from Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer. While some X-Men characters are confirmed to appear, rumours have been circulating online about possible cameos from Avengers stars, including Robert Downey Jr’s return as the beloved superhero Iron Man. While the movie is just weeks away from release, fans might be disappointed to learn that Tony Stark will not be part of the film.

Industry insiders reveal that although RDJ was in discussions for a special scene, plans didn’t work out and he will not be making an appearance in the upcoming MCU movie. As per insider, Daniel RPK, “They also wanted RDJ to make a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, particularly in a post-credits scene, but it didn’t work out. It was supposed to serve as both a buildup for Secret Wars and as a payoff to another scene that is still in the film, which I won’t spoil.”

This was confirmed just hours after another insider claimed that Robert Downey Jr’s cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine “didn’t work out.”

Iron Man’s heroic yet unexpected demise in Avengers: Endgame left many fans emotional, as Robert Downey Jr. poured his heart into the role. With the introduction of the multiverse, which brought back familiar faces like Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, fans are now hoping Marvel Studios might find a way to revive Tony Stark’s character.

After the last Avengers movie, Downey had repeatedly said he wouldn’t return as Iron Man. However, in a recent interview with Esquire, the Oppenheimer star hinted that he might be interested in playing the iconic superhero again. He said, “It’s too integral a part of my DNA. That role chose me. And look, I always say, Never, ever bet against Kevin Feige. It is a losing bet. He’s the house. He will always win.”

Other than Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, Deadpool & Wolverine will feature Tyler Mane, Emma Corrin, Matthew Macfadyen, Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Stefan Kapicic, Brianna Hildebrand, Rob Delaney and Lewis Tan, among others.
