Deepika Padukone Misses Irrfan, Teases Big B As Piku Turns 9: 'He Loves Telling Everyone How Much I Eat'
Deepika Padukone shared a fun BTS photo from Piku sets as the film clocked 9 years on Wednesday. It comes roughly two weeks after Irrfan's death anniversary.

One of Deepika Padukone’s best roles was in the 2015 movie Piku, where she acted alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan. In the Shoojit Sircar-directorial, Deepika played the main character who goes on a road trip with her dad, played by Amitabh Bachchan, with Irrfan as their cab driver. The movie was loved for its humour, and all three actors gave their very best.

Days after Irrfan’s death anniversary and as the film marked its 9th year, Deepika posted a a never-seen-before BTS photo on social media from the sets of Piku. The photo features Amitabh Bachchan and the late Irrfan. In the photo, a production assistant offers a platter of fruit to Amitabh Bachchan as he points towards Deepika. Irrfan is also seen engaging in a conversation with them. Depeika captioned the photo, “He loves telling everyone how much I eat! @amitabhbachchanc@irrfan Oh how much we miss you…” Earlier, Amitabh had spoken about Deepika’s eating habits and jokingly said, “Yeh haar 3 minute mein khaana khati hai (She eats food every 3 minutes).”

Director Shoojit Sircar had also earlier praised Deepika’s performance in Piku, where she depicted the complexities of a daughter’s bond with her father. Deepika’s recent Instagram post reminded fans of the film’s lasting impact and her role in it.

On the work front, Deepika is currently shooting for Singham Again. While on set, Deepika recently posed with the junior artists working with her. Her pregnancy glow caught everyone’s attention in the photo. Deepika, who is expecting her first baby with Ranveer Singh in September 2024, is working through her pregnancy. In Singham Again, she will be playing the role of a ruthless police officer. Recently, a junior artist who worked with Deepika dropped a selfie on Instagram with the actress. She also shared a sketch she made for Deepika and a bouquet of flowers with a note that read, “To our hero, Lady Singham”.
