Punjabi music star Diljit Dosanjh has achieved global icon status. Following his sold-out shows across North America, Australia and New Zealand, he recently announced on social media that his highly anticipated Dil-Luminati Tour is heading to India. The tour will be a grand 10-city celebration, entertaining lakhs of fans throughout the country. It will commence on October 26 in Delhi and conclude on December 29 in Guwahati.
Diljit’s India tour has already started causing frenzy amongst his fans, with tickets for the concerts selling out quickly. On Thursday, September 12, the tickets went for sale on Zomato at 1 p.m. and sold out almost immediately, which left many of his fans in utter shock. There were just two ticket categories available in Delhi: Fan Pit, which started at ₹19,999, and Gold (Phase 3), which was priced at ₹12,999. The two categories were nearly sold out right away.
In an interview with NDTV, Janamjai Sehgal, Diljit Dosanjh’s concert organizer and Business Head of Saregama India Ltd., revealed that 1.5 lakh tickets have already been sold. He noted that, despite the enormous demand, venue limitations and regulations mean they expect around 2 lakh attendees across 10 venues. Sehgal highlighted that this level of response is unprecedented in India, even for international artists. On the first day of pre-sale, there were 8-10,000 transactions per minutevand 1 lakh tickets were sold within 15 minutes. He promised that the Delhi show would feature one of the largest setups ever seen in India.
On Tuesday, September 10, concert ticket presales began at 12 pm, offering early bird tickets at a 10 per cent discount exclusively for HDFC Pixel Credit Card holders. These cardholders had the opportunity to purchase tickets 48 hours before the general public. According to several reports, these tickets sold out within just 2 minutes.
The singer took the excitement level of his Indian fans to another level when he announced his Dil-Luminati India Tour. Sharing a carousel on his Instagram account, Diljit wrote, “DIL-LUMINATI INDIA TOUR Year 24. Find Your Nearest City In The List Bro. AA GEYA DOSANJHANWALA.” Notable, before his India tour, Diljit will be performing in Europe in cities like Paris, Birmingham, Glasgow, Dublin, and many more.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Diljit, who received much appreciation and love for his portrayal of Amar Singh Chamkila in Imtiaz Ali’s Netflix film, has joined the cast of Border 2. Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has also been roped in for the film.
