Mumbai: Actor Farhan Akhtar today said since he had been beaten on screen in quite a few films, he was very excited to thrash the bad guys in his upcoming film 'Wazir'.

'Wazir', which is slated to release on January 8, 2016, is an action thriller starring Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan in the lead roles along with Aditi Rao Hydari.

"I had a wonderful time doing action. I have directed action in films like 'Lakshya' and 'Don' series. It is a different experience when you are directing it and doing action as an actor," Farhan told reporters here at a promotional event of 'Wazir'.

"In films like 'Rock On', 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' I get beaten up, so I was excited to do action on screen in this film," the actor said.

The film is about two unlikely friends- a wheelchair-bound chess grandmaster (Amitabh Bachchan) and a brave ATS officer (Farhan Akhtar). Both are brought together by grief and a strange twist of fate.

When asked what kind of action style 'Wazir' follows, Farhan said, "Different films have different kind of action. This is pitched in hard, gritty and real way and Bejoy Nambiar (director) is good at it. I enjoyed doing it." 'Tere Bin', a song from 'Wazir', was launched today.

"I am comfortable doing romantic numbers. It's a romantic song...song of love companionship that is growing with time. It's a nice environment created for the song," he said.

"When you are with somebody you love, you want time to slow down. Every moment...Every second matters," he added. The Bejoy Nambiar-directed film has been produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
