Gul Panag Slams Those Mocking Kangana Ranaut Over CISF Officer Slapping Incident: 'We Can't Justify...'
Gul Panag criticized people who are making fun of Kangana Ranaut over the recent slapping incident involving a CISF officer.

Actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut was slapped by a CISF guard at the Chandigarh airport on Thursday afternoon. Kangana was travelling to New Delhi days after her Lok Sabha elections win from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi constituency. The CISF woman constable, identified as Kulwinder Kaur, has been suspended. In the light of this incident, several celebrities have condemned this attack, including Gul Panag.

Taking to her X(formerly Twitter) handle on Monday, actress Gul Panag penned a strong-worded post, criticising those who are mocking Kangana. She wrote, “We cannot justify someone in uniform making a political statement on duty — whatever the provocation. This is a slippery slope, and what the meme makers, stand-up comics, artistes and others fail to realise is that they could also be on the receiving end of violence one day” @Sherbir.”

Meanwhile, Faye D’Souza recently penned a post condemning the incident, which was liked by Alia Bhatt. The post read, “With reference to the incident of MP Kangana Ranaut being slapped at an airport, violence can never be the answer. Especially not in our country that was born out of Gandhi’s ideals of non- violence. It doesn’t matter how much we disagree with views and statements made by someone, we cannot react with violence and we should not condone it. It is particularly dangerous when security personnel react violently while in uniform. Imagine, over the last ten years, if those of us who questioned power were assaulted at airports by constables who were in agreement with that power.”

Previously, Kangana slammed the film industry for “celebrating” the attack and not supporting her. Taking to Instagram Stories, Kangana wrote, “All eyes on Rafah Gang this can happen to you or your children as well. When you celebrate a terror attack on someone be ready for the day it comes back to you as well.”

In another post that she deleted soon after, she had written, “Dear film industry you all are either celebrating or are totally mum on the airport attack on me remember if tomorrow if you walking disarmingly on some street of your country or anywhere else in the world and some Israeli / Palestinian hits you or your children just because you tried to bring eyes to Rafah or stood up for Israeli hostage… then you will see I will be fighting for your rights of free speech, if someday you wonder why I am where I am remember you are not me…”

What's your reaction?
