Madhur Bhandarkar Visits Siddhivinayak Temple In Mumbai: See Pics
Following his visit to Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai, Madhur Bhandarkar dropped two pictures on X one of which featured him posing for the camera.

National Award-winning director Madhur Bhandarkar recently reached the Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai, seeking blessings from Lord Ganesha. After his spiritual visit, the critically acclaimed director dropped a post on X. In the post, he offered a glimpse of his visit and wrote, “Today Siddhivinayak temple Darshan. Ganpati Bappa Moriya.” The post shared by Madhur Bhandarkar also included two pictures. While the first image featured the idol of Lord Ganesha at the renowned temple, the next one captured the director posing for the lens. Dressed in a lavender T-shirt, he wore a bright smile in the picture.

Since having embarked on the entertainment industry in 1999, Madhur Bhandarkar has delivered some masterpieces including Fashion and Page 3. Although his debut film Trishakti performed extremely poorly at the box office, the director proved his talent with his next venture Chandni Bar. The Tabu starrer drama brought National Awards for the director and the actress.

Speaking on how Chandni Bar changed the industry’s dynamics, Madhur Bhandarkar, in an interview with Hindustan Times, shared, “It was the first female-led film that became a success not only in multiplexes but also the single screens. I made Chandni Bar when people used to make big-budgeted and male-centric films. The film was nominated in the popular category with big films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Gadar and Dil Chahta Hai. It was evident that our film made a strong noise and disrupted the whole grammar of cinema.”

Moving forward to 2005, Madhur Bhandarkar won his second National Film Award for Page 3 followed by a third-time recognition for Traffic Signal, released in 2007. In 2022, he was again honoured with the prestigious award for his debut in the Bengali film industry with Avijatrik (The Wanderlust Of Apu). Based on the novel Aparajito by acclaimed Bengali writer Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay, the film revolves around the journey of a boy named Apu who wants to experience the outside world.

Madhur Bhandarkar’s last Hindi project was Babli Bouncer with Tamannaah Bhatia. The romantic comedy film, released on Disney Plus Hotstar, explored the world of female bouncers. Also starring Saurabh Shukla, Abhishek Bajaj and Sahil Vaid in pivotal roles, the film failed to garner positive reviews from the audience.
