My chemistry with Karan Johar? It's been 'reloaded' this season: Manish Paul on 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded'

Manish Paul is one of the most famous hosts of the recent times. A popular name in TV industry, Manish made his Bollywood debut in 'Mickey Virus' in 2013.

With funny antics and quirky style, Manish brought a new energy with him when he joined 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa' in season 5'. Back with his quirky and witty remarks as 'Jhalak Reloaded' host, Manish spoke to IBNLive.com about his association with 'Jhalak family' and much more.

You’ve been associated with Jhalak for quite some time now. How does it feel to be a face of 'Jhalak' series?

I have always loved the concept of 'Jhalak'. The show is amazing and getting a spot here was a different feeling for me. Holding a mic and hosting the show give me an incredible feeling. It's exciting, it's fun and I feel great. I want to thank the audience for supporting and loving me and my crazy antics. It feels great to know that they identify me with such a huge show. I love all of this.

What according to you makes the show such a hit with the viewers?

The show's concept and presentation makes it popular. It is inspired with 'Dancing With The Stars' and has a very desi flavour to it. The celebrities that participate in the show are mostly household names, so people are always excited to see them grooving on stage. The panel of judges has always been an interesting bag of mix. All of this combined by brilliant performances and efforts of everybody on and off stage, makes it a hit.

Talking about the judges, you had a great time teasing Remo D'souza and Madhuri Dixit in the previous season, but this time they aren’t part of the show..

I will definitely miss Madhuri Ji and Remo Sir, Madhuri Ji was the star of the show in the previous seasons. I had fun shooting with both of them, but I don’t have the power to decide the judges. As far as this season is concerned, the judges are interesting. My focus will be on Karan Johar (laughs). Lauren Gottlieb, Ganesh Hegde are fun and so is Shahid Kapoor. I can promise that the fun won't end, in fact will be 'reloaded' this season.

So will you mess with the judges in this season as well? Who are you planning to take genuinely funny digs at?

I can't reveal much at this stage, but yes a lot of fun is in store for the audience. Karan Johar has always been my favourite so yes our chemistry will blossom in this season too. Celebrities are also there, so I'll help them open up on stage with some craziness of my own.

Tell us something about your forthcoming projects; are you working on any film right now?

Definitely. My next film 'Tere Bin Laden 2' is in filming stage. Post that I will do 'Katha'.

People have always seen you in funny, quirky avatars. Do you think it is difficult to find a role that breaks that image?

I think that depends on the actors. If you are keen on finding a certain type of role, you can get it. I am doing an action film, where audience will see me in a never-seen before avatar. I agree people stereotype actors but one can break as easily as they are created them. If you think you can do justice to the role, audience will love you in that new sphere as well.

What's your reaction?
