Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati has been mired in controversies ever since it was announced. Now, a case has been registered against Kunwar Surajpal Singh Ammu, a ruling BJP leader in Haryana, who announced a bounty of R. 10 crore for beheading filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and actor Deepika Padukone under section 506.

According to reports, an FIR has been filed against the BJP leader over his remarks on Padmavati row in Haryana.

In an earlier interview, Ammu, chief media coordinator of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state, said he continues to stand the statement he made as a "Rajput" and not as an office-bearer of the party.

He was quoted as saying: "We do not want to take law in our hands but will not forgive anyone who tries to spoil the image of Rajput kings and queens."

The film, starring Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor alongside the actor, was supposed to release on December 1 until the makers voluntarily deferred the release of the film adding that the revised date would be announced in “due course".
