Rakul Preet Singh Says She 'Lost' Films Due to Nepotism: 'I'm Not the Kind of Person Jo Bitter...'
Actress Rakul Preet Singh opens up on losing films due to nepotism but remains positive, saying, 'those projects weren't meant for me.' She's gearing up for De De Pyaar De 2.

Rakul Preet Singh, a prominent face in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi cinema, recently shared her views on nepotism during an appearance on The Ranveer Show. Known for her roles in De De Pyaar De, Runway 34, Doctor G and Chhatriwali, Rakul has carved her space in the industry without any industry background. The actress is currently preparing for her upcoming movie De De Pyaar De 2 alongside Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan.

Speaking candidly about her experiences, Rakul acknowledged that she has lost films in her career due to nepotism but chooses not to dwell on it. “Yes, this happens, and I have lost films, but I am not the kind of person jo bitter hoke beth jaayega [who will sit and sulk]. Maybe those films weren’t meant for me,” she explained. She believes that understanding the ebb and flow of opportunities in life is essential for growth.

Rakul shared that her upbringing has helped her develop a positive perspective. Recalling her father’s advice, she mentioned that his experience in the army taught her not to fixate on what’s beyond her control. “I had to go into the army; my dad would share his experience with me. Nepotism, I don’t think too much about it,” she added.

The Doctor G actress provided a unique analogy to support her viewpoint, stating that losing opportunities is just a part of life. “If a doctor is unable to join the board and someone else is sent there, it’s just the way life works,” she noted. Instead of feeling resentful, Rakul focuses on her journey and personal growth.

When asked how she would handle the issue if she had children, Rakul admitted that while she wouldn’t push them to “stand in line and try their luck,” she would support them in any way she could. “If a star kid gets easy access, the credit goes to their parents who have worked hard for it,” she said, highlighting the importance of family support.

On the work front, Rakul is gearing up for the next schedule of De De Pyaar De 2, which will reportedly be shot in Punjab alongside Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan.
