Reason Behind Justin Timberlake's Plea Deal In DWI Case Revealed
In June, Justin Timberlake was arrested in New York for driving his car in an intoxicated state.

A significant development in Justin Timberlake’s Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) case, as the singer has reached a plea agreement for a reduced charge. In June, Timberlake was arrested after he was observed operating a grey 2025 BMW erratically, failing to halt at a stop sign. After being pulled over, he was found with “bloodshot and glassy” eyes, with a strong alcohol stench. While Justin Timberlake initially pleaded not guilty to the charge of drunk driving, however, his recent change in stance has sparked curiosity among his fans.

According to a People report, the singer wants to put all the legal drama behind him and focus on his family, thus explaining his move. “He’s a family man, and this is his focus. He accepted a plea deal because he wanted to move on. The court case has been a distraction. He doesn’t want his family to be affected by it,” a source said.

Timberlake is married to actress Jessica Biel, with whom he shares two kids, Silas and Phineas.

Details About Justin Timberlake’s DWI Case

Back in June, Timberlake was arrested in Sag Harbor, New York, and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. According to the police, he was found in an intoxicated condition and was described as “unable to divide attention,” performing poorly on “standardised field sobriety tests.”

According to court reports, while the singer admitted to having one martini, his attorney disputed the same during the July hearing, arguing that the police made errors. After weeks of the controversy, the singer’s DWI charge has been dropped, while he will now accept a Driving While Ability Impaired charge, states a TMZ report. As a result, Justin Timberlake will not have a criminal offence but a traffic violation as a part of the deal. Despite the claims and counterclaims, the singer’s license was suspended for a year.

Timberlake’s next hearing is on September 13.

Currently, the 10-time Grammy winner is also busy with his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, which is also on his “priority” list. He will next perform on September 28 in Newark, NJ.
