Actress Rhea Chakraborty, who was under intense scrutiny following the unnatural death of her boyfriend, actor Sushant Singh Rajput, in 2020, faced severe trolling and was later arrested in September 2020 on charges of procuring drugs for the late actor. She spent a month in Byculla Jail before being granted bail in October 2020.
Years later, Rhea has now launched a new chat podcast show called “Chapter 2,” with former Miss Universe and actress Sushmita Sen as her first guest. In conversation with Sushmita, Rhea opened up about her current career status, confirming that she no longer acts in films or shows. She addressed the curiosity about her financial situation and said that while she isn’t acting, she manages her expenses. “Ok, people are confused about what I do for a living anymore. I am not acting in films, I do other things, I do motivational speaking and that’s how I earn my money,” she said.
During the chat, Rhea also shared what she considers her superpower: the ability to polarize any room she enters. She noted that half the people might view her as a witch, while the other half might see her as a resilient woman who has endured a lot of hardships. She said, “I often joke that I have a big superpower. I enter a room and I can polarize it! Half of them would think, ‘She has done something, she is a witch, she practices black magic,’ and the other half would think, ‘She’s a strong girl who fought through it, she had courage.’ I can sense it the moment I enter a room. I will experience this at the dentist’s clinic, the gym, the airport. This has also made me understand that it doesn’t matter. Those who love you, great, those who hate you, that’s also okay, it doesn’t matter.”
