The director duo Abbas-Mustan collaborated with superstar Shah Rukh Khan on films like ‘Baazigar’ and ‘Baadshah.’ Even though fans are eagerly anticipating another collaboration between the trio, Abbas-Mustan have disclosed that they are working hard to make it happen. They mentioned a major obstacle, stating that they haven’t come across any ‘interesting’ scripts suitable for the actor.
During an interview with Radio Nasha, the director duo expressed, “We have done a lot of meetings and even today when we meet Shah Rukh or go to his house, he still meets us with so much respect and gives us time. He never made us feel that he is not the old Shah Rukh Khan. We will surely do a film with him, definitely. But we don’t have a script for him.”
Abbas-Mustan shared that every time they meet Shah Rukh Khan, he inquires, “Kuch laaye ho? Anything exciting?” They further explained, “We have not received anything that might be new to him. Aisa koi script he nahi hai. He is an expert. He can play any role. If we get, we will obviously work with him.”
Additionally, Shah Rukh Khan recently gave an update regarding his next project. In an interview with Star Sports, he mentioned, “I just felt I can rest a little. I have done two to three films and there was a lot of physical work also in all the three films. So I said maybe I will take some time off and I told the whole team (Kolkata Knight Riders) ‘main aaunga matches dekhne.’”
He went on to say, “Fortunately, my shooting is in August or July. We planned in June, so it may start in June. So I am absolutely free till then. So I would like to come to all the home matches, because I love coming here (Eden Gardens).”
Meanwhile, If a new report is to be believed, Shah Rukh will be playing a Don in his film with his daughter Suhana Khan. Much like his OG Don role, Shah Rukh will have shades of grey in the film. It is widely reported that SRK and Suhana are working together in a film by Sujoy Ghosh. The film is allegedly titled King. It is co-produced by Pathaan maker Siddharth Anand and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment.
A source told Pinkvilla, “Shah Rukh Khan is making films for the audience and is well aware about their urge to see him in shades of grey. King is his passion project and he has been meticulously working on all aspects of the project with Siddharth Anand and Sujoy Ghosh. They have collectively carved a very cool full of attitude and swag character with shades of grey for SRK in King.”
Speaking about this look, the insider added that Shah Rukh will sport ‘long hair with a faint beard.’ We are already having Don 2 Deja vu. The source added, “While the character designing is already done, Siddharth Anand is presently working on the action blocks with international stunt teams. Sujoy, on the other hand, is getting the dialogue draft ready, whereas SRK is overseeing the creative process and training with Suhana on some new-age action sequences.”
Shah Rukh, Sujoy, Siddharth and Suhana are yet to react to the claims. It was previously claimed that the filming of ‘King’ is scheduled to commence in May, over a span of five months, with plans to premiere the movie in the latter half of 2025. The actors and filmmakers are yet to officially announce the film.
