Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty celebrated his 63rd birthday yesterday. He is one of the highly successful actors in Bollywood. In his 30-year film career, the actor has worked in over 100 films. The actor made his debut in Hindi films in 1992 at the age of 31 with Balwaan, opposite Divya Bharti. The film turned out to be a hit, and the actor never looked back.
He was one of the highest-paid Bollywood actors throughout the 1990s. He also owns the producing company Popcorn Entertainment Private Limited and has produced many films under the Popcorn Motion Pictures name, including Khel: No Ordinary Game (2003), Rakht (2004) and Bhagam Bhag (2006).
The actor was born into a Tulu-speaking Bunt family on August 11, 1961, in Mulki, Mangalore. His father has to go through a lot and face a lot of struggle to support the family. Meanwhile, in a recent media interaction, Suniel Shetty shared about his father’s struggle days, which is currently garnering everyone’s attention.
According to reports, once upon a time, his father was jobless and came to Mumbai in search of work. There he started working as a cleaning worker in a building. Later, he worked as a cleaner in a South Indian restaurant and raised his children with his hard-earned money.
The actor also spoke about his father’s incredible tenacity and perseverance, which helped him rise to the ranks in the hotel industry. He shared his father’s boss bought three buildings, and his father was asked to manage them. Then, when his boss retired, Sunil Shetty, who became a star, bought the same hotel buildings, and that was where their journey began.
Taking more about his personal life, the actor tied the knot in 1991. He is married to Mana Shetty, a businessman, designer and social activist whose parents are Gujarati Muslim architects and Punjabi Hindu social activists. They have two children, a daughter, Athiya Shetty, and a son, Ahan Shetty.
Suniel Shetty has a black belt in kickboxing. He owns clothing boutiques as well as restaurants specialising in Udupi cuisine. According to reports, the actor will soon be seen in the upcoming film Welcome to the Jungle.
