Disney+ Hotstar is ready with the second season of its popular drama, Taaza Khabar. Featuring Bhuvan Bam as Vasya, the one with a gift of foreseeing news, the drama will take an intense turn with Jaaved Jaaferi joining as the dark and fierce Yusuf Akhtar. A trailer has been released, giving a glimpse into Vasya’s struggles after he loses his “gift” and ends up dealing with the aftermath of his actions, even putting his and his family’s lives at stake.
The trailer shows Bhuvan’s character crossing with the wrong man, who happened to lose a lot of money due to Vasya’s prediction. With no intention to show any mercy, Jaaferi’s Yusuf Akhtar grants two weeks to Vasya to return Rs 500 crore, leaving him in a tough spot.
Desperate to save his life, Vasya goes on another risky path with his group, leading to more chaos, drama and life-threatening situations. Will the magic work once again or will things take a turn for the worse? The second season will have all the questions answered. Along with the trailer, Disney+ also confirmed the show’s release date on social media. “Karza aur gunah chukaane padhte hain! Besides Buvan, returning is Shriya Pilgaonkar as Madhu, Prathamesh Parab, Deven Bhojani and Shilpa Shukla. Made under the banner of Bhuvan Bam’s BB Ki Vines Productions, the show is directed by Himank Gaur, who also helmed the previous season. The comedian-turned-actor spoke about the “emotionally challenging” second season, adding that the character of Vasya reflects his own life journey.
While Jaaved Jaaferi is also ready to take on a different role as an antagonist, he shares his thoughts about the character. “When I was offered ‘Taaza Khabar S2’, I was excited about playing the antagonist. Yusuf is layered, powerful, and has a fierce demeanour, which is unlike any role I have played in the past. Taaza Khabar has been a creatively satisfying experience for me, and audiences are in for a treat with Vasya and Yusuf’s ultimate showdown,” he said, as quoted by India Today.
Taaza Khabar Season 2 will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on September 27, 2024.
