This Bollywood Actress’ Father Got Married For The Fourth Time At The Age Of 70
His recent marriage with a woman younger than her daughter had raised many eyebrows in the industry.

When Aamir Khan’s movie Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar premiered in cinemas in 1992, it received a positive reception from audiences. Pooja Bedi, daughter of Kabir Bedi, portrayed Aamir’s girlfriend in the film and gained significant popularity as a result. However, despite this boost in fame, she failed to leverage it and eventually withdrew from the film industry after 5-6 years.

Kabir Bedi, Pooja Bedi’s father, enjoyed considerable fame during his prime. His name often made headlines due to his romantic relationships with various actresses. However, it was his fourth marriage, at the age of 70, to a woman younger than his daughter, that truly surprised everyone. Similarly, Pooja Bedi’s life has been marked by controversies, including her conversion to religion for love. Despite her tumultuous personal life, Pooja attempted a comeback in acting after her marriage ended in divorce.

Pooja Bedi tied the knot with Farhan Furniturewala, a Gujarati Muslim whom she met in 1990. They exchanged vows in May 1994, with Pooja embracing Islam after marriage and adopting the name Noorjahan. Together, they have two children, including Alaya Furniturewala. However, their marriage ended in divorce in 2003. In February 2019, Pooja Bedi announced her engagement to Maneck Contractor.

Following her divorce, Pooja became involved in various activities beyond the film industry. It’s not widely known that she didn’t have a prolific film career, with her acting career coming to a halt within 5-6 years. Pooja appeared in a few films during her career, including Lootere, Aatank Hi Aatank, Shakti and Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee, Her last notable role was in Masaba Masaba, where she made an extended cameo appearance.

Pooja Bedi was born on May 11th, 1970, in Bombay (now Mumbai), to the late Indian classical dancer Protima and actor Kabir Bedi. Her heritage includes Punjabi Sikh and British ancestry from her father’s side and Bengali and Haryanvi ancestry from her mother’s side. She was raised in what she describes as a ‘bohemian progressive artistic environment.’
