It was a dream come true moment for Kim Kardashian’s son Saint West. The eight-year-old walked hand-in-hand alongside football legend Lionel Messi as an escort player ahead of the Inter Miami vs LA Galaxy Major League Soccer match on February 25. The game ended in a draw after Messi scored the equaliser late in the second half stoppage time, capitalising on a build-up with his ex-Barcelona teammate Jordi Alba. Earlier in an interview, Kim Kardashian revealed that Messi was Saint West’s favourite player. With her son walking the football icon to the pitch, the internet personality shared the joyous moment on social media.

Dropping a video of Saint West sharing the same frame as Lionel Messi on X (formerly Twitter), Kim Kardashian wrote, “Saint walking Messi out on the field tonight at the La Galaxy vs Inter Miami game!!! He is living the absolute dream!” The clip captured Saint West wearing an LA Galaxy jersey and white shorts walking beside Lionel Messi towards the field. The footballer looked at the little escort player affectionately and sported a beaming smile. Both the players of the Inter Miami and LA Galaxy teams followed suit.

The video concluded with the players lining up on the field, amidst cheers and applause from the crowd. Fireworks lit up the night sky, indicating the beginning of a gritty match.

Soon after the post emerged on the platform, social media users reacted to the video, happy that Saint West got the opportunity to meet Lionel Messi. “So cool!! I bet he was in heaven,” noted one individual. “He is currently walking with a living legend,” wrote another. “Aww bless him bet so excited to meet him,” exclaimed a third user.

This is not the first time that Kim Kardashian and Saint West attended a football match featuring Lionel Messi playing for the Inter Miami club. The SKIMS founder and her eldest son marked their presence at the Chase Stadium in July last year when Messi made his debut for Inter Miami, appearing in a Leagues Cup match against Mexican club side Cruz Azul.

In an interaction with Apple TV, Kim Kardashian revealed that Saint West was “obsessed with soccer”, adding that the family often takes “soccer trips” for him. According to Fox Sports, the mother-son duo watched several European club soccer matches in 2023, meeting PSG’s Kylian Mbappe and Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah.
