Watch | Maharashtra Man Throws Haldi on State Revenue Minister Over Reservation Demand
According to sources, the man who threw the turmeric was apparently shouting slogans for OBC reservation and Dhangar community.

A video doing rounds in social media showed a man throwing haldi (turmeric powder) on Maharashtra revenue minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil.

Soon after the act, the supporters caught hold of the man and assaulted him. The minister’s guards, too, could be seen pushing him away from Patil. The incident took place in a government guest house in Solapur. The incident, however, came to light on Friday, September 8.

According to sources, the man who threw the turmeric was apparently shouting slogans for OBC reservation and Dhangar community. It later came to light that the man was protesting and demanding reservation for the Dhangar community.

According to a NDTV report, the man was identified as Shekhar Bangale, who later told media that he did this act to draw the government’s attention towards his community’s plight.

Bangale later mentioned the government must give their community reservation under the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category and also warned that people from their community would throw black paint at even the Chief Minister if their requirement is not met.
