Anupam Kher met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at the latter's New Delhi residence.

Anupam Kher met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday, December 28. The actor met the politician at the latter’s New Delhi residence. Kher took to his Instagram handle to share a series of pictures from their meeting as he also thanked Singh for his ‘warmth and hospitality’.

In one of the pictures that Anupam Kher shared on social media, he was seen standing next to the union minister as they posed for the camera. Another picture featured the actor talking to Rajnath Singh. Kher was also seen greeting Rajnath Singh with folded hands in one of the clicks.

Sharing the pictures, Anupam Kher also penned down a heartwarming note and appreciated Rajnath Singh’s ‘vast and deep’ knowledge. “It was my privilege and my honour to meet the dynamic #DefenceMinister of our country Shri. #RajnathSingh ji at his residence! His knowledge about various topics apart from our defence forces is vast and deep. Great learning experience. Thank you Sir for your warmth and hospitality! Jai Hind!” he wrote.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Anupam Kher was recently seen in The Freelancer – The Conclusion. He will soon be seen in Kangana Ranaut’s directorial Emergency in which he will be playing Jayaprakash Narayan, a political theorist and leader, who was also the opponent of Indira Gandhi. The film was earlier scheduled to release on November 24, 2023, but it will now hit theatres in 2024.

Besides Emergency, Anupam Kher will also be essaying the role of Rabindranath Tagore in his 538th film. Sharing the first look from the project earlier this year, Kher wrote, “Delighted to portray #Gurudev #RabindranathTagore in my 538th project. Will reveal the details in due course. Ye mere saubhagya hai ki mujhe gurudev ko parde par saakaar karne ka saubhagya parpt hua hai. Jald hi is film ki adhik jankaari apke sath sanjha krunga (It is my good fortune that I have got the privilege of embodying Gurudev on screen! Soon, I will share more information about this film with you).”
