Ahmedabad: BJP veteran leader LK Advani said on Monday that the political alliance between BJP and the PDP in Jammu and Kashmir is "not bad" but some decisions taken by the Mufti Sayeed government without consulting the BJP were "not good". "BJP's stand on Kashmir is clear and known to everybody," Advani said.
"No alliance is bad, but some decisions taken by the government without consulting their alliance partner (BJP) initially were not good," Advani said in reply to a question about the situation that arose after formation of the government in Jammu and Kashmir.
BJP and PDP entered into alliance to form a coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir, but some decisions of the PDP like releasing separatist leader Masarat Alam have not gone down well between the two partners.
Later, Advani also visited his adopted village of Bakrana in Sananad taluka of Ahmedabad district, which falls in his Gandhinagar constituency. "We can develop all villages of Gandhinagar constituency one by one through MPLAD funds," he said, announcing grants for development of the village under MPLAD funds and the Prime Minister's Aadarsh Gram Yojana.
Advani hoped that every household would have toilets to ensure facilities especially for women. Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel also met Advani on Monday, an official release said.
