Patna: As the countdown to assembly polls in Bihar begins, sources claim that an alliance between Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal United (JDU) and Lalu Prasad's Rashtriya Janata dal (RJD) seem unlikely.
While both Nitish and Lalu have refrained from speaking on the issue, party insiders are indicating that the alliance is off the table.
According to sources, during a party meeting on Wednesday Nitish had hinted that JDU might fight polls without RJD and only have Congress as an alliance partner.
Amid continued logjam over the tie-up and signs of growing strain between the two parties, Nitish met party legislators and Parliamentarians on Wednesday to take feedback from them about the situation. The exercise of meeting party leaders is likely to continue till June 17.
Despite the fact that Kumar and RJD President Lalu Prasad live near to each other there is no meeting between them to end the deadlock on tie-up between them.
