Clear mandate will make imminent change more productive: PDP
Mehbooba said preference of the people who had voted in the Lok Sabha polls for change at the national level will now be revolving "only around the PDP".

Jammu: Stating that the ruling National Conference and Congress were likely to face its worst ever defeat in the upcoming elections, PDP on Friday hoped for a clear mandate for the party saying it will make the "imminent change" more purposeful and productive.

"The National Conference and Congress will face even worse defeat than they did in the Lok Sabha elections but the imminent change can become more purposeful and productive if the PDP is given a clear mandate in the Assembly elections," PDP president Mehbooba Mufti said during a public rally in Inderwal belt of Kishtwar district.

Mehbooba said preference of the people who had voted in the Lok Sabha polls for change at the national level will now be revolving "only around the PDP".

"I am glad to see people rising above caste and religious lines to close their ranks behind the PDP in the hope of bringing in a government headed by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and reviving the process of reconciliation, reconstruction and rehabilitation in the state," she said.

Claiming that National Conference and Congress do not have any achievement to show of their governance, Mehbooba said people's anger against the two parties has reached its peak and will result in a worse punishment to them than they had tasted during the Lok Sabha elections.

Mehbooba said Chenab Valley in spite of being a natural resource-rich region has been "pushed into deprivation, poverty and backwardness".

"Bungling of MGNREGA, PMGSY, Panchayat funds has been taking place and every single scheme launched by the government has been subverted there," Mehbooba alleged. She further alleged that 500 youth were rendered jobless after Rattle Power Project was asked to stop work and said it was a "direct result of harassment caused by the NC and Congress leaders to the project authorities".

She claimed bad road connectivity was a major cause of concern in the entire region and PDP if voted to form the government will seriously address this issue.
