Denied Ahmedabad East ticket, Harin Pathak says won't quit BJP
The BJP refused to give the Ahmedabad East ticket to seven-time MP Harin Pathak and instead fielded actor Paresh Rawal.

Ahmedabad: Seven-time MP Harin Pathak who was refused the Ahmedabad East ticket by the BJP said on Sunday that he would not quit the party as was speculated. He added that his decision regarding the Lok Sabha elections would be taken in the next three days after consulting party workers.

"No question of joining Congress, I am not going to leave BJP," he told reporters at a press conference.

Pathak who lost his ticket to actor Paresh Rawal said that he was not hurt by the party's decision but the constituency workers were.

He added that he had conveyed his feelings over the entire episode to party's prime ministerial nominee and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

Harin Pathak who is a loyalist of veteran leader LK Advani said that no leader was mightier than the party and that the party was the supreme. He added that Advani was the tallest leader of the BJP.

Speaking on his future course of action, Pathak said that he would decide on the same after consulting his supporters, He, however that the party's decision to give the Ahmedabad East ticket to Rawal had let down the Gujarat workers.

Pathak also targeted the BJP over the recent controversies related to ticket distribution. "We want a candidate who is one of us. I have spent my whole life serving the people of my region," he said.
