Bangalore: A high drama was witnessed during a public debate between Bangalore South candidates on Saturday. The debate between BJP's Ananth Kumar, Congress's Nandan Nilekani, AAP's Nina Nayak, JDS candidate Ruth Manorama turned ugly when supporters of the BJP and Congress started hooting at each other.
The ruckus began when Nilekani started speaking in English and was interrupted with people demanding him to speak in Kannada. Despite both Ananth Kumar and Nilekani requesting the workers to maintain peace, people clashed with each other in verbal fight.
The debate was stopped halfway and all the candidates left the venue. Meanwhile, AAP supporters held a silent dharna outside the venue.
Nilekani and Ananth Kumar later blamed each other's parties for the ruckus.
