Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla said that he was confident he will get majority in the 40-member state assembly. The Four times Chief Minister also discussed on a varirty of issues including the anti-Congress wave in the country, the presence of AAP and the Mizoram elections.
Here is an excerpt from the interview:
CNN-IBN: Sir, your views as a veteran Congressman about the anti-Congress wave we have seen in the other states?
Thanhawla: There is no anti-Congress wave in Mizoram at all, there is a pro-Congress wave. Except in Rajasthan, there is not much of an anti-Congress wave in any other state. In Delhi, AAP played spoilsport for the Congress.
CNN-IBN: The MNF is confident that they are going to win about 22 seats, your views on that?
Thanhawla: They have their right to be confident, I have nothing to say about that.
CNN-IBN: In Mizoram, it is usually a very clean verdict, but for the first time I think we are in a situation where the Congress might not be able to make it.
Thanhawla: I can tell you that I am going to form a government again.
CNN-IBN: Do you think Rahul Gandhi's leadership has not really translated to votes for the Congress?
Thanhawla: This is just the first time he is being trained, I am not going to compare him to Narendra Modi, because he just started taking the mantle. It's yet to be tried, we shall follow him.
