Pratapgarh: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, a SPG protected VIP, gave his guards some anxious moments at his Pratapgarh rally in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday by jumping the barricade to meet his supporters. At the rally Rahul Gandhi launched a blistering attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accusing the party of turning a blind eye to corruption.
He attacked BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi over corruption cases involving several party leaders. "The opposition says that thgere is only one man who can run the country. They talk about corruption but three ministers of Gujarat have just come out of jail on corruption charges. BJP doesn't see the corruption of (former Karnataka chief minister) BS Yeddyurappa," he said.
Accusing the BJP of indulging in divisive politics, he said, "BJP plays politics of hatred. They believe in dividing people. People of UP and Bihar are ill treated in Maharashtra by Shiv Sena which is an ally of BJP."
