New Delhi: For the Bharatiya Janata Party already battling dissent, a tweet by party president Rajnath Singh has further fueled confusion. Just minutes after Rajnath Singh tweeted saying it's time for BJP, he hastily changed it to 'time for Modi'.
While earlier Rajnath Singh tweeted, "Time for change, time for BJP. Bahut Hui Mehngai Ki Maar, Abki Baar BJP Sarkar," he later tweeted the official election tagline, "Ab ki baar Modi sarkaar." This tagline drafted after much discussion was intended to focus the entire campaign on the party's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
On Sunday, party spokesperson Nirmala Seetharaman, distancing herself from the 'Har-Har Modi' slogan had underlined the official line that the slogan is 'Ab ki baar Modi sarkaar'. The Congress has also been critical of the BJP saying the party is all about Modi.
"Whether it is Advani ji or the humiliation of MM Joshi ji or public disagreements of Sushma Swaraj ji, I think Rajnath ji was tweeting about the changes in their party leadership," said Congress leader Randeep Surjewala.
