Sangma meets Mamata, says hopeful of TMC support
Mamata kept her support pending and informed Sangma that a decision would be taken after discussions in the party fold.

Kolkata: Presidential candidate PA Sangma on Tuesday held talks with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee seeking the votes of her Trinamool Congress in his bid for the top post, but failed to extract any commitment, party officials said.

Though Sangma expressed "happiness" at the way the meeting went, Mamata kept her support pending and informed Sangma that a decision would be taken after discussions in the party fold.

"Today I met Mamata Banerjee and other TMC leaders. I came her to request for their support for the Presidential election. I am very happy with the outcome of the meeting. I am going back with a lot of hope for support from Mamataji and TMC," Sangma said.

TMC leader and Railway Minister Mukul Roy said, "Sangma met Mamata Banerjee to seek the TMC support. The party will discuss and then intimate the decision later on."
