'Stop This Savarkar-type...': Asaduddin Owaisi Alleges Delhi Home Vandalised With Black Ink

AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi’s nameplate outside his house in New Delhi was smeared with black ink by miscreants on Thursday, sources said. Police were informed about the incident and they are trying to ascertain the identity of the accused by scouring the CCTV footage.

Additionally, India-Israel friendship posters were also put up outside his residence demanding that the Hyderabad MP’s Lok Sabha membership be revoked.

The incident comes days after Asaduddin Owaisi sparked a controversy by chanting ‘Jai Palestine’ slogan as he concluded his oath as an MP on the second day of the 18th Lok Sabha session in Parliament on June 25.

Asaduddin Owaisi was out of the house with his family when the incident took place. The Hyderabad MP informed the Delhi police after he returned home and saw the smeared nameplate.

The Hyderabad MP took to the microblogging site and informed about the incident while questioning the safety of the MPs. He also asserted that “this Savarkar-type cowardly behaviour does not scare him”.

“Some “unknown miscreants” vandalised my house with black ink today. I have now lost count the number of times my Delhi residence has targeted. When I asked @DelhiPolice officials how this was happening right under their nose, they expressed helplessness. @AmitShah this is happening under your oversight. @ombirlakota please tell us if MPs’ safety will be guaranteed or not. To the two-bit goons who keep targeting my house: this does not scare me. Stop this Savarkar-type cowardly behaviour and be men enough to face me. Do not scurry away after throwing some ink or pelting a few stones,” Owaisi wrote in an X post.

According to Delhi police sources, a man came and sprayed black paint on Asaduddin Owaisi’s nameplate outside his residence. The entire incident was captured in the CCTV footage.

Owaisi’s residence is located just 50 meters away from Delhi Police headquarters.
