New Delhi: Congress candidate Sharmistha Mukherjee, who is contesting Delhi Assembly polls from Greater Kailash constituency, on Tuesday said that resolving local issues such as women security, traffic and parking is her priority and she is going door-to-door to campaign focusing on them.

While campaigning in Kailash Hills, Swami Nagar and Gulakwali Masjid, Sharmistha said she is focusing on upgrade and maintenance of basic amenities to provide better standard of living.

"Suraksha, Sugam & Sanskriti (security, accessibility & culture) is my motto for this constituency. I am contesting this election on local issues and solving them is my priority," she said.

Daughter of President Pranab Mukherjee, Sharmistha is debuting against Aam Aadmi Party's sitting MLA Saurabh Bharadwaj and BJP's Rakesh Gulia, who is also a newcomer for the February 7 elections.

"The problem of traffic and parking are part of my key agenda for the constituency. I am also planning safety measures for the district park in the area which is around 10 sq kms so that it can become a safe place for women," she said.

Sharmistha on Tuesday held door-to-door campaigns at Ashok Bindusar and Kailash Hills. Apart from this, she also held 'padayatras' in Jagdamba camp, Lalgumbad Camp, Swami Nagar and Gulakwali Masjid.

In 2013 elections, Congress came third in the Greater Kailash seat with 19,641 votes as against AAP's 43,097 votes and BJP's 30,005 votes.
