SS Rajamouli Says Malayalam Film Industry Produces Better Actors: 'It's With Jealousy And Pain...'
During the Premalu success celebration, SS Rajamouli candidly admitted to feeling "jealous" that the Malayalam film industry consistently produces great actors.

The Telugu version of the Malayalam hit film Premalu, along with Gaami and Bhimaa, was launched on March 8. SS Rajamouli, whose son SS Karthikeya acquired the dubbing rights, attended a Hyderabad event to celebrate the film’s success. During the event, he candidly admitted to feeling “jealous” that the Malayalam film industry consistently produces great actors.

At the event, the Baahubali and RRR director mentioned that he usually doesn’t go for romantic comedies, but surprisingly, he liked this film. He stressed that it’s best enjoyed in theaters, where the laughter of the people around you adds to the experience. He also gave credit to Aditya, the writer of the Telugu dialogues.

He added, “It is with jealousy and pain that I admit the Malayalam film industry produces better actors. In this film too, they did a fantastic job.” He compared Mamitha Baiju to Sai Pallavi and Geethanjali saying, “I think she has potential and I see a lot of love for her.” He also praised the rest of the cast and crew.

Recently, Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar were seen enjoying a movie date in Hyderabad, and it seems they attended a screening of Premalu. Mahesh said that it had been a while since he laughed so heartily, sharing his thoughts on X. “Thank you @ssk1122 for bringing #Premalu to the Telugu audience… Thoroughly enjoyed it…. Can’t remember the last time when I laughed so much while watching a film… The entire family loved it. Top class acting by all the youngsters. Congratulations to the entire team!! (sic)”

Premalu revolves around a few Malayali youngsters who move to Hyderabad for their education. Naslen K Gafoor plays Sachin Santhosh in the film, while Mamitha plays Reenu Roy and Shyam Mohan plays Aadhi. dhi. The film is produced by Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan, and Syam Pushkaran.
