Vijay Antony is one of the most remarkable actors and directors who has garnered adulation for his performances in films like Naan, Pichaikkaran and others. Vijay is now reportedly looking forward to collaborating with the Aruvi fame director Arun Prabhu Purushothaman on an untitled film.
As per reports, the Naan actor will work with the director when all the films he has agreed to act in his contract are wrapped up. The 48-year-old actor has liked the storyline of the film and agreed to act in it, the reports added. He has also agreed to produce this film under the banner of Vijay Antony Film Corporation Private Limited. The selection of the actors and technicians for this film is underway. Other details related to the film are still to be disclosed by the makers.
Vijay has gradually become a bankable actor and composer in the ever-evolving world of the cinema. Even after reaching the pinnacle of his career, the actor has a humble attitude and talked about it in an interview with Cinema Express. He said, “I am still stuck to the middle-class mentality. I don’t talk much about cinema after shooting. I neither listen to a lot of songs nor binge-watch movies. Even my Facebook feed and browser suggestions are similar to any common man out there. So, instead of worrying much about the taste of the audience. I make films for myself, as I believe I am the basic Tamil cinema audience. Even though a cook makes a dish for others, he must taste it himself and have receptive tastebuds to ensure that the flavours are right. I just make sure that my cinema taste buds are alive.”
Currently, Vijay Antony has an interesting lineup of films ahead amongst which some of the noteworthy mentions are- Hitler, Romeo, Khaki, Valli Mayil and others.
Vijay faced a tragic incident when his 16-year-old daughter Meera Antony reportedly died by suicide at her Chennai residence on September 17, 2023. Meera was taken to a hospital in Mylapore but was reportedly declared dead on arrival.
