Actor, TV host and politician KB Ganesh Kumar needs no introduction. He has starred in over 100 Malayalam films and performed a variety of roles. The actor was recently seen in the courtroom drama film Neru. Recently, he has shared his working experience in the film, which is currently garnering the attention of many. In a recent media interaction, KB Ganesh Kumar revealed that he had thought of quitting films until the script of Neru, directed by Jeethu Joseph, came to him. He said, “As soon as I heard the story, I decided in my mind that I wanted to act in the movie. But there was a problem with the date regarding a foreign trip.” KB Ganesh Kumar further stated that he informed director Jeethu regarding this. He further conveyed it to Mohanlal, who played the main lead in Neru. Hearing the problem, Mohanlal agreed to postpone the date of his Kannada film, in which he was working, and made the shooting of Neru earlier for the sake of KB Ganesh Kumar.
Ganesh said that after Neru, he changed his mind about quitting movies. He shared that he will continue to work in good films like Neru, if he gets the opportunity.
Neru was released in theatres worldwide recently on December 21 and is receiving positive reviews. Along with this, the performances of Mohanlal, Siddique, and Anaswara Rajan received immense praises from the viewers. It was produced and distributed by Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas. Apart from Mohonlal, the movie also stars Anaswara Rajan, Priyamani, Siddique, Sankar Induchoodan, Santhi, and Jagadish in important roles. While the music for the film was composed by Vishnu Shyam. The streaming rights to the movie were reportedly acquired by Disney+Hotstar.
Ganesh Kumar made his debut in 1985 with the Malayalam film Irakal, directed by KG George. The movie was said to be the second-best film of the year. Over the years, he made his mark on the silver screen as a supporting actor, performing a variety of roles during the last two decades. Since 2001, he has balanced his role as MLA with his acting duties. Some of his popular movies include Cheppu, Monster, Drishyam 2, Up & Down: Mukalil Oralundu, and Keralotsavam.
