Google launches new web store to sell Nexus devices, Chromebooks, smartwatches, other hardware
The new destination for all physical products has been named the Google Store and is solely for all hardware.

New Delhi: Google has created a separate online store to sell its products like the Chromebooks, Nexus devices, and more which were earlier sold through its Google Play store.

The new destination for all physical products has been named the Google Store and is solely for all hardware, unlike the Google Play Store that included apps, music, and movies.

In its blogpost, the company also announced an updated and more powerful Chromebook Pixel that will come with the latest USB Type-C all-in-one port for power, secondary screen output, and plugging in other devices. After Apple's recently introduced MacBook, Google's new Pixel will become the second device to feature the new type of port.

Google noted that for years it had been selling all its products through its single online destination and with the expansion in its products line, it was time to split the store and have a separate hardware section. The existing Google Play Store will no longer sell the physical products by Google, but will continue offering apps, music, and movies.

At store.google.com, you can not only shop for Google's physical products including Nexus phones and tablets, Chromecast and Chromebooks, and other accessories, but you can also learn more about newer technology like Android Wear, Nexus Player and Nest.

Those who have recently purchased a product via Google's Play Store will have their orders automatically transferred to the new store.
