OnePlus 13 Launch Confirmed For October: New Flagship Chipset And Camera Expected
OnePlus 13 launch is expected to be big affair for the brand as it looks to compete in the flagship space and also bring its new advanced battery charging tech.

OnePlus has officially confirmed that its next flagship device, the OnePlus 13, will be introduced in October. A senior official from OnePlus revealed that it will debut in China as part of the company’s latest flagship smartphone lineup. The device will be powered by the “latest generation” flagship chipset and is expected to handle graphic-intensive mobile games like Genshin Impact at ultra-high frame rates. This confirmation of the launch date complements earlier reports that suggested the OnePlus 13 would support up to 100W wired fast charging.

OnePlus’ China President Louis Lee announced in a post on the Chinese social media platform Weibo that the OnePlus 13, will be available in China “next month”. This points to an October debut for the handset but exclusively in China.

According to a OnePlus official, the device will be powered by the “latest generation” flagship chipset, likely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, which is expected to be unveiled at the Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii next month. This new SoC is expected to feature a self-developed dual-core architecture designed to enhance mobile platform performance. The processor is reported to be developed by a team with a background in creating PC chips.

With the help of OnePlus’s “exclusive” technology, this chipset will enable games with high visual quality, such as Genshin Impact, to run at up to 120 frames per second (fps). A recent leak from tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that the OnePlus 13 may make its Chinese debut in the final week of October or the first week of November.

The OnePlus 13 is also expected to feature a 120Hz flat display with a 2K resolution and curved edges. In terms of photography, it may come equipped with a 50-megapixel camera with an ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto sensor offering 3x optical zoom. The handset could be powered by a 6,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. It might have an IP69 rating for water and dust resistance.
