Tech And Auto Awards 2018 Winners: Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is the Best Budget Smartphone of The Year

The Budget Smartphone of the Year category, which saw phones priced around the Rs15,000 point, duel it out for some serious competition. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro went head to head with the Nokia 6.1 Plus, the Realme 2 Pro, the Honor 8X and the Moto G6. The Redmi Note 5 Pro emerged as the winner, which is not a surprise considering how it has been the best-selling smartphone in India quarter after quarter.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro runs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor with up to 6GB RAM. The phone has a 5.99-inch display with the 18:9 aspect ratio. It packs in a large 4,000mAh battery. At the back is the dual camera combination of 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors and a 20-megapixel front facing camera. In fact, the Redmi Note 5 Pro was the global debut for the Snapdragon 636 processor, which we have seen in many smartphones since. To keep the phone cool while you may be using resource intensive apps or playing games, Xiaomi used a dual graphene sheet to keep it cool, and thereby not impact performance either.
