The Meta-owned instant messaging application WhatsApp is reportedly new feature, which will allow users to filter and view status updates in a vertical list. The new improvement will be beneficial for users who aren’t following any channels, making it easier to access muted status updates without navigating to a separate section through the three-dot menu.
According a report from WABetaInfo, a website that track WhatsApp, the Meta-owned app is introducing a functionality that enables users to filter and browse through status updates in a vertical list. The feature is presently available for Android beta testers and users need to install the update version 2.23.24.11 to access the feature.
The report also mentions that certain beta testers might test a new “See all” button to swiftly view a vertical list of their status updates. Within this section, some beta testers can utilise four filters to categorise their status updates more effectively.
These filters display all the status updates from their contacts, providing users with a convenient feature to catch up on everything their contacts have posted without missing any updates.
WhatsApp is also rolling out a new feature to view status updates from the conversation screen for iOS users. This enhancement allows WhatsApp to better highlight status updates within the chat list, eliminating the necessity to open the Updates tab for viewing them
As per the report, status updates can also be visible in the conversation screen as the status ring now appears around the profile photo within the top app bar, making this feature even more convenient for users.
This means that you can also quickly catch up status updates from your contacts when opening the conversation with them.
