In Manikpur village, Gopalganj district, a dispute flared between neighbours Sunny Bharti and Amarendra Giri over a pet dog. Six individuals from each group sustained injuries during the fight.
Last Friday, Amarendra Giri’s dog ended up at Sunny Bharti’s doorstep, which made Sunny angry and he hit the dog. When Amarendra tried to talk, Sunny got aggressive and things turned violent.
Both groups started using sticks, stones and other things to fight. Six injured individuals were quickly rushed to Sadar Hospital for urgent medical care. Sunny Bharti accused his neighbour of insulting him while drunk. Bharti said the insults were unfair. When he spoke up against it, he was physically attacked and got hurt.
The incident was reported in the police station. OP Chauhan, the chief of police in that area, said many people got hurt in the fight. Both sides lodged complaints, prompting the police to file reports against both parties and investigate the incident. Among the injured, four individuals from one group are Ahilya Giri, Prashant Giri, Mansi Giri and Amarendra Giri, while Shani Bharti and others are from the opposing side.
It is not the first time when a fight broke out over a dog. Some time back, a fight broke out among residents in a Noida apartment building on Monday because of an argument over bringing a dog into an elevator. It happened when a retired civil servant stopped a woman from taking her dog into the lift at Park Laureate Society in Sector 108.
Both the retired officer and the dog owner took out their phones and started recording the incident. CCTV footage showed the woman grabbing the man’s phone, triggering a physical fight between the duo.
As per the reports, the man allegedly slapped the woman. She quickly notified her husband, who then arrived at the scene. This led to another round of physical fights with both parties exchanging slaps and blows. The woman even stopped other residents from entering the lift to protect her husband.
