In a bizarre incident from Bengaluru, a simple request to turn on the air conditioner led to a heated argument between an Uber driver and his passenger. A video shared on ‘X’ captures the intense exchange, showing the driver and passenger clashing over the malfunctioning AC.

The clip, posted on the ‘Ghar Ke Kalesh’ page, features the passenger questioning the driver about his sudden anger. Initially conversing in Hindi, the driver lost his cool and demanded the passenger speak in Kannada instead.

Dr. Atharv Dawar, the passenger, explained that the trouble began when he asked the driver to switch on the AC. The driver refused, citing a problem with it. Dr. Dawar mentioned that although the driver first communicated in Hindi, he later insisted on Kannada, which escalated the situation.

“Since everyone is forming an opinion let me share the context here- the 16-second video is 1st followed by the other video. I denied to sit in his friend’s Indica as it didn’t have AC and was filthy. Then I sat in his car and he talked to me in Hindi only,” Mr. Dawar wrote on X, sharing the videos.

“But d moment I asked him to Turn on the AC he got charged up. Listen to him responding in Hindi AC nahi hai. It’s not abt language here it’s about arrogant n irresponsible person using Kannada language as smokescreen to continue scamming gullible people who travel to BLR for work,” he further elaborated.

Dr. Dawar also mentioned that he reported the driver to Uber Support, including a photo of the cab’s number.

The video quickly went viral, sparking a range of reactions from the public. One viewer commented, “I find driver to be arrogant in this case! He is not respondin to the question and I don’t find issue with passenger as he is not asking the driver to speak in Hindi or any language he is tryin to be cooperative but Y is the driver behaving in this way not sure.”

Another added, “You are not the only one here, It’s become a trait 4 drivers to change stance once they arrive. Unfortunately, cab aggregators don’t hv d power or don’t want to 2. There has to be a uniform raking system & drivers with negative reviews need to be temporarily taken off the rosters.”
