India, they say, is the country of jugaads (innovation). We have an alternative to everything. Recently, a digital creator posted a video in which he appeared to be stuck in traffic. However, the clip also showed the “jugaad” we are so familiar with. The short clip posted on Instagram showed an electric car parked at a traffic signal.
The person shooting the video noticed something unusual and zoomed in. The parked car had a broken side mirror. But instead of replacing it, the owner decided to tie a plastic mirror in its place. The creator uploaded it with the phrase, “Epic Moment” embedded in the video. The video was likely recorded somewhere in Maharashtra, given the MH number plate on the car.
Since being uploaded, the video has had over 2.6 million views and has been flooded with comments.
Appreciating the car owner for the cheap alternative, one user said, “Jugaadu hai Indian,”; another person stated, “He proved once again India is not for beginners.”
A person praised saying, “Wah kya dimag layaga bhau ne,” and another individual commented, “Bhai 5000 kon kharcha karega”.
Netizens also pointed out the real reason the mirror is attached to the car and joked, “The mirror in the object is smaller than it appears.”
“Owner of car missed the optics chapter,” said another person.
At the same time, many praised him for following safety rules. One user said, “Love this at least he knows the importance of it.”
“Still better than those who keep their ORVMs closed and drive. He literally considered safety,” read another comment. The side mirror or the side view mirror assists the driver in seeing areas behind and to the sides of the vehicle which is beyond the driver’s peripheral vision.
A person simply stated, “Without thinking about DUNIYA,he prioritizes safety (jugad by birth in Indian)”.
A number of people laughed out loud seeing the cheap alternative the owner resorted to.
