Pets In UK Are Getting Addicted To TV: Study
Recently, a survey was conducted on about 2,000 pet owners by Worcester Bosch in the United Kingdom.

Pet parents adore their furry friends and go the extra mile to pamper and care for them. While some buy them costumes, others invest in their food. Often, without realising, pet parents start treating their fur babies like a human baby and instead of providing them more affection and convenience, it might be harming them. In an attempt to mould them as per our lives and routines, they end up acquiring our habits. Believe it or not, a recent study conducted in the United Kingdom proved that pets are getting addicted. Not to a certain food, drink or toy. But, to TV and are called “Gogglebox pets”.

Recently, a survey was conducted on about 2,000 pet owners by Worcester Bosch in the United Kingdom. The survey results found that in Britain people who love to keep pets often switch on the TV before they leave the house. This makes the TV the sole companion of the pets in the absence of their pet parents. The result also showed that pet parents when home preferred to watch football matches or movies with their furry companions. Hence, pets are now getting addicted to watching TV. Reportedly, 1.2 crore pet dogs and 1.1 crore pet cats have been found addicted to TV.

The study revealed that 28 per cent of pet owners leave their TVs switched on for their animals before they step out. Another 36 per cent who have home cameras showed that their pets are glued to the TV when the pet parent is not around.

One revealed that her pet bulldog watches TV on his own and with her. She claimed that she is out at work a lot and her pet copes well on his own as she leaves the TV on with the sound turned a bit down. She further added that her dog knows all the characters of their favourite programme. But, he enjoys sports, especially football the most, as he keeps an eye on where the ball is going.

In a separate study, it was found that pet parents had to use code words when they had to talk about certain events like going out for a walk or vet appointments.
