Bicycles are one of the first two-wheelers which most people learn in their lives. Now, how will you feel if someone offers you Rs 10,000 for riding a bicycle for 10 metres? It may sound attractive at first, but there is a catch. It is not like other bicycles which you have ridden all your lives. It follows a reverse mechanism. If you turn left then it will turn right and vice-versa. The Regional Science City Centre at Bhopal has invented this cycle by following the reverse mechanism of motors. None of the participants have won the prize money yet. The Madhya Pradesh Council Of Science & Technology CST scientists have built this bicycle. It is currently available in the Vigyan Vimarsh Veethika building within the campus of Regional Science City Centre, Bhopal. MPCST scientist Pankaj Godala said that one can learn to ride this bicycle in six months, but to master it one will have to forget the mechanism of the previously learned bicycles.

The bicycle uses a reverse technique. It alters your sense of direction. If you turn left then it turns right and if you turn it right then it will move in the left direction. Due to this distorted sense of direction, none of the participants have been able to ride the bicycle for 10 metres without keeping their foot on the ground.

While talking to Local18, scientist Pankaj Gadola said that we always used to think that our brain is the only organ in our body which decides the direction of our movement. It is not true, claimed Pankaj Gadola. Our centre of mass acts as a stimulus for our brain to go in a particular direction. Our brain is instructed to shift in the direction in which our centre of mass shifts. We need to train our body along with our brain to develop a keen sense of direction. This bicycle focuses on this exercise. So far, children from many schools and colleges have come to ride this cycle. Scientists are waiting for someone to come and win the prize this year.
