An attacker who fatally knifed six people in a Sydney mall was shot dead by a cop in the beachside suburb of Bondi Junction.

The recent stabbing attack at Australia’s Westfield Shopping Centre in Bondi Junction recently left everyone shocked over the horrors that occurred to the shoppers after an attacker ran towards them with a knife. Six people were killed in the stabbing attack while many others were injured by the person, who went on a stabbing spree in the mall before a cop shot him down. Videos going viral on social media show the attacker rushing inside the mall with a knife in his hand and creating a chaotic situation.

However, it was Amy Scott, a female cop who single-handedly took down the attacker and is now being hailed as a hero on social media.

According to the eyewitnesses, while the panicked shoppers tried to exit the mall, the woman cop followed him and took him down with a single shot to his chest. The officer while maintaining her composure was seen commanding the man to drop his weapon. However, upon facing a sudden attack, she fired a single shot that struck him in the chest.

While social media has been hailing the female cop for her courageous decision, Scott has finally broken her silence on the incident.

In a video shared by the Daily Mail, the cop opened up on the incident where she confronted the 40-year-old nice man Joel Cauchi, knocked him down, and brought an end to the rampage that killed six innocent people at the shopping centre on Saturday afternoon.

Stating that “she is not a hero” as the internet has been calling her, Amy Scott added that she was just “doing her job” and was “content with her actions.”

Social media users also reacted to the video and hailed her heroics.

In a tragic situation, as many as six people were fatally stabbed at the Westfield Shopping Centre. Many others were said to have been injured in the rare attack including a nine-month-old baby, whose mother was also killed. An investigation is presently underway as the police are yet to know the attacker’s motive.

Shortly after that, another stabbing incident was reported at Christ The Good Shepherd Church in Sydney where at least four people were stabbed. There were no fatalities, however, the incident did trigger unrest, prompting many to gather outside the church and clash with the police.
