Two-time Formula 1 champion Mika Hakkinen was currently in India to promote Johnny Walker’s Join the Pact campaign – an initiative that aims to spread awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and makes people pledge to never drink and drive by collecting their signatures. As of now, the initiative has managed to collect over 5 million signatures globally and when it brought the Formula 1 legend to India, it was an opportunity too hard to pass. We have a conversation with Mika on how has his visit to India been, which car is his daily driver and how and why has he associated himself with this campaign even after 12 years.

In India, 1 road accident occurs every four minutes – and it is estimated that 1.5% of road traffic accidents and 4.6% of fatalities are attributable to drink driving. Johnnie Walker’s campaign comes to India with an aim to collect over 2 million pledges.
