'Garden Mein Ghoomne Wala hi Hai': Ravi Ashwin Recalls Hilarious Moment With Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill - WATCH
Ravichandran Ashwin revealed how Jaiswal and Gill were given responsibility of maintaining the ball in the recently concluded Test series against England.

The experienced Ravichandran Ashwin of the Rajasthan Royals shared a hilarious moment with the young duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill in the recently concluded Test series against England at home.

Speaking at an event with the likes of Jaiswal, Rovman Powell and Shane Bond, Ashwin revealed that the young duo were given the responsibility of maintaining the red ball during the England series.

“Rohit had said ‘Garden mein ghoomne waale log, yeh toh yeh sach mein garden mein ghoomne wala hi hai'( these guys are those that roam around in the garden),” started Ashwin referencing Rohit Sharma’s viral Instagram post following the Test series.

“I can’t remember which Test it was, ball maintenance is a thing, I don’t how many people are aware of that, so whenever you shine the ball, the shiny side is supposed to be kept dry. The ball was passed to Yashasvi and he kept the ball in his hand making the ball wet all over. He then gives it to Shubman Gill, that guy will be catching the ball and tossing it around,” revealed the off-spinner with over 500 Test wickets.

“The point is that when you use the sweat to shine the ball, it will help in reversing but that comes with a bit of experience,” he added.

The crowds were laughing at the story narrated by Ashwin and even left the youngster embarrassed as well.

The Test series on the other hand was another dominant win for the home side India who clinched the series 4-1 despite going down to the visitors in the first Test at Hyderabad.

Yashasvi Jaiswal showcased his class during this series where he scored two double-hundreds and finished with 712 runs across the five-match affair and bagged the Player of the Series award as well.

Shubman Gill also had a decent series with the bat scoring a total of 452 runs which included two hundreds and as many half-centuries to be India’s second-highest run-scorer in the series behind Jaiswal.
