Madrid: Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotii on Sunday ruled out any further signings before the end of the month.
Real Madrid lost a pre-season friendly game 1-2 to Italian side Fiorentina late Saturday night, reports Xinhua.
Real Madrid cruised past Sevilla in the European Supercup Tuesday to lift the first title of the season but that win contrasts with their four defeats in preparation games, (Inter Milan, Roma, Manchester United and Fiorentina) which have cast some doubts over a side which has strengthened over the summer with the signings of Tony Kroos, James Rodriguez and goalkeeper, Keylor Navas.
The club has been linked to Monaco striker Rademal Falcao, but when asked about bringing any more new faces to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Ancelotti insisted,"the chapter of signings is closed."
"We're not looking to make any more signings," he said in sport paper, Diario AS.
The manager was also asked about midfielders Sami Khedira and Angel Di Maria, both of whom could leave Real Madrid over the summer, with Manchester United thought to be interested in Di Maria, who was Madrid's best player Saturday.
"Nothing has changed. They are both Real Madrid players and I choose other players for the European Supercup," said Ancelotti, who said the main reason the duo had not played was due to a lack of match fitness.
Ancelotti explained that Gareth Bale had a slight back problem and added that Cristiano Ronaldo would be fit to play in the Spanish Supercup against Atletico Madrid Tuesday night.
He was also asked about the debut of Keylor Navas, but refused to say whether the Costa Rican or Iker Casillas would line up against Atletico.
"It was an important day for Keylor, who's going to get some game time. He's in perfect shape and we will make a decision on who plays the Supercup later," concluded Ancelotti.
