TIRUCHY: Union Minister M K Alagiri visited close aides ‘Essar’ Gopi and Anita Radhakrishnan in prison on Wednesday. He was accompanied by Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment D Napoleon and former State Minister for Transport K N Nehru upon his arrival around 1.15 pm. Initially, Alagiri tried to enter with Napoleon, Nehru and Chozhavandan’s former MLA Moorthy, who was also present. But, the police personnel pointed out that only three persons are allowed in at a time. Following this, Alagiri left out Nehru, who is known to be a Stalin loyalist. The police, however, said Moorthy could not accompany the Union minister, as only Alagiri was named in the visitors’ list. Alagiri also visited Madurai prison on Wednesday to meet DMK men lodged there. When media persons met him outside the prison, he told them he had nothing to say.
