BANGALORE: Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has invited tenders to start pumping secondary treated water from a Rajakaluve near Hennur to the TTP in Yelahanka to make up for the deficit inflow. With this, the KIADB industrial park may expect treated water within threefour months. Currently, secondary treated water from the Jakkur STP is flowing in the canal.A BWSSB official consaid there was also a proposal to set up a TTP in Hoskote to cater to new KIADB mini industrial parks that are coming up around Bangalore. The official said a feasibility report was under way to asses the same. Pre-feasibility reports pegs construction costs at `250 crore. Detailed estimates are yet to be taken up. The TTP will eventually be linked to the treated water flow from K&C STP.“Flow to K&C STP will be sufficient soon as work is under way to pipe sewerage flow,” said S P Rudramurthy, Additional Chief Engineer, Waste Water Management, BWSSB. He told Express that BWSSB was already supplying treated water to several industries (see box) at `25 a kilo litre whereas a private company was getting treated water supply for `15 a kilo litre as they had laid a pipe from the TTP at Vrishabhavathi Valley to the plant at their own cost. However, Rudramurthy saod only one private company had approached BWSSB so far for treated water. Two tertiary treatment plants, one each in Lalbagh and Cubbon Park, are treating sewerage to generate treated water for gardening.
