HYDERABAD: On the eve of Bakrid, after which the Centre has promised some 'movement' on the Telangana question, top sources indicated that bifurcation of the state is not among the options being considered, or even a reaffirmation of Samaikya Andhra. Instead, the Centre is said to be working towards an 'out-of-the-box' solution, the sources said.
Indications are that this is going to be a strange beast, the likes of which none has seen in this longdrawn saga. However, the unfurling of this being is also going to be longdrawn, to suit the exigencies of the ruling party. Although government and party leaders from the state have advised the Congress high command that the solution be summary and unfurled once and for all, the Centre is said to have charted a slower trajectory. The 'movement' promised by Union home minister P Chidambaram post-Bakrid is likely to commence with an invitation to 'friendly' parties within the UPA to present their views on the Telangana question, preferably something along the lines of 'take the interests of all into consideration'.
