BANGALORE: A transport agency owner has alleged that a Police SubInspector and other policemen have assaulted and robbed him.
Subramanya, owner of KPS Transports in Doddaballapur, has filed a complaint with the City Police Commissioner against Yelahanka New Town SubInspector Lohith and other policemen. In the complaint, he has stated that on June 21 night, he was transporting some goods from Bommasandra to Doddaballapur. As he came near Nagenahalli Gate on Doddaballapur Road, a few policemen stopped his vehicle for checking."Though I submitted valid documents, the policemen asked money saying that their SubInspector Lohith wants it and took me to him. Even Lohith asked money and when I refused to give, he and his men assaulted me. Later, they took me in a jeep to the police station where they continued beating me," he said in the complaint. "An ACP came to the police station and questioned about my arrest. Later, they released me after snatching a gold chain, ring an `30,000," he has alleged.
